Mr. Shepperd is a shareholder of Apollo BBC, Inc., a forensic consulting firm focused on diagnosing and resolving problems with buildings. His responsibilities include sales and marketing, business development, and day-to-day management of personnel and projects. Apollo BBC provides its expertise and integrated services (structural, building envelope, and mechanical system) to its clients nationwide.
In addition to managing business considerations, Mr. Shepperd is a technical expert in Structural Engineering, including the design, analysis, and repair of building components, analysis of foundation and soil interaction, and emergency stabilization techniques. Mr. Shepperd is also expert in the installation, assembly, and failure analysis of windows, walls, and roofs (building envelope). He holds both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and is a licensed professional engineer in multiple states.
Mr. Shepperd is active in technical communities including the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and the Association for Preservation Technology (APTI). Key interests include historic preservation of facilities and forensic analysis of building failures.
Mr. Shepperd is a Board Member of the Greater Houston Chapter of the United State Green Building Council (USGBC) and is a Leadership in Energy Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP).
Prior to joining Apollo BBC, Mr. Shepperd held a technical consulting position at a premier structural consulting firm in Texas where his expertise was utilized for litigation support services, forensic investigations related to failures of building assemblies, and the evaluation and repair of a variety of structures, including sports arenas and high-rise commercial buildings.
